Step 01
LOAD A FILE
Drop a
.mseed
file from INGV EIDA. This is the raw binary format used to store seismic recordings.
Step 02
DETECT EVENTS
The
STA/LTA
algorithm scans the signal and automatically finds earthquakes by comparing short vs long-term energy.
Step 03
DOWNLOAD JSON
Get a structured file with station info, detected events (with magnitude), and the amplitude time series for the simulator.
Seismic file
accepts .mseed · .seed · .miniseed

Detection parameters
STA/LTA algorithm
Quick preset:
Sensitive
Default
Robust
STA window (seconds)
Short-term energy window — lower values catch smaller impulses
LTA window (seconds)
Long-term background window — longer = more stable noise baseline
Trigger threshold
STA/LTA ratio to start an event — higher = fewer false detections
Detrigger threshold
When ratio drops below this, the event is considered over
Frame interval (seconds)
How often amplitude is sampled for the simulator time series
Min gap between events (s)
Minimum silence required before a new event can be detected
